### Detailed itinerary

### DAY 1 - Hanoi: Arrival at Noi Bai International Airport

Your 11-night journey begins with your arrival at Noi Bai International Airport. You will be greeted by your private English-speaking guide and then a private driver, who together will transfer you to your city hotel.

Hanoi is located in the northwest of the Red River Delta and translates to "the hinterland between the rivers". It is also a city of lakes, there are 18 of them, the most prominent of which is the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake located right in the city centre, just south of the bustling Old Quarter. A heady mix of Eastern and European styles, Hanoi is a fascinating and fun place to explore on your own.

Your guide will give you a brief introduction to the city during your transfer, and after checking in, the rest of the day is at your leisure to settle into your new time zone and enjoy the start of an unforgettable honeymoon. We can recommend a few popular restaurants so you can make reservations in advance.

### DAY 2 - Hanoi: Sightseeing in the capital of Vietnam

After breakfast, meet your guide for a private tour of the city. Start with a visit to the Temple of Literature, the country's first university, built in 1070 to teach the teachings of Confucius. Then enjoy a walking tour of the energetic Old Quarter, which includes a brief stop at a family home to learn more about the lives and lifestyles of the locals. Continue on to the highly photogenic Ngoc Son Temple, which stands proudly in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake, and finish the morning with lunch at a local restaurant. The afternoon is then yours to relax at the hotel or continue exploring independently.

### DAY 3 - Halong Bay: embark on a cruise on Halong Bay

After an early breakfast, you will transfer back to Hanoi airport for an unforgettable seaplane flight to Halong Bay. The flight takes approximately 45 minutes and offers spectacular aerial views of the Red River Delta, ending with a circumnavigation of Halong Bay before an exciting landing at Tuan Chau Harbour.

In Tuan Chau, you will embark on a two-night cruise. In the first few hours, you'll enjoy views from the sun deck or private stateroom as you sail off the day cruise and short-haul operators to the more remote corners of the bay. Later, you'll enjoy excursions such as visits to small islands and fishing villages, kayaking or swimming, and cooking demonstrations. In the evening, after cocktail hour, a delicious a la carte dinner is served. Overnight on board. Please note that a local guide may not join you on board; all excursions will be led by the cruise guides and shared with other passengers.

### DAY 4 - Halong Bay: Cruise aboard a boat in Halong Bay

It's worth waking up early in the morning to watch the sunrise from the balcony or the upper deck, where staff will lead an invigorating Tai Chi lesson. You'll enjoy the dramatic scenery and local lifestyle before moving to a comfortable day boat for day excursions, where you'll once again enjoy the dramatic scenery and local lifestyle. Once back on board, you'll have time for sunbathing on deck, spa treatments, swimming off the deck or perhaps joining the staff in a squid hunt. Another delicious dinner is served on board.

### DAY 5 - Hoi An: Disembark and transfer to Hoi An

Before the cruise heads back to the mainland, you have the opportunity to start early again and practice Tai Chi. Before disembarking back in Tuan Chua, you will have a good breakfast and another excursion on board. You will meet your private guide and driver again and then transfer to the airport for your onward flight down to Hoi An.

On arrival you will meet your new guide and driver team who will transfer you to your luxury beach resort just outside of town. Hoi An is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port. It was most active between the 15th and 19th centuries, and much of the infrastructure from that time still remains. Hoi An is famous for its tailoring workshops and is a great place to get reasonably priced tailored clothing; ask your consultant or guide for recommendations.

### DAY 6 - Hoi An: My Son and Marble Mountains by jeep

After breakfast, your guide and open-top jeep will be waiting for you - your transport for the day. Head along the coast towards the famous Marble Mountains: their five peaks are named after the five elements - metal, fire, wood, earth and water. There are numerous tunnels, pagodas, caves and many caverns ready to be explored. Park up and take a short hike to the top of Thuy Son (Water Mountain) for a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. You'll then head down and drive along rural back roads, taking in the scenery of rice paddies, water buffalo and small villages - with plenty of time for photo stops along the way.

At a local restaurant, you'll enjoy a delicious local lunch of "Mi Quang", a noodle soup that is a specialty of central Vietnam. Afterwards, a jeep will take you to My Son: a rural Cham temple site that dates back to the 8th century. Your guide will lead you on a short hike to the main temple grounds, lined with jungle, and will give you a brief history of the site along the way. A final scenic drive through the rural suburbs of Hoi An will bring you back to your hotel, where you will arrive late afternoon, and then be at leisure.

### DAY 7 - Hoi An: Private cooking class with Madame Vy

This morning, learn all about exotic Vietnamese cuisine and how to prepare it - the perfect souvenir to take home. We'll pick you up and take you to "Vy's Market", a unique interactive food venue with various food stalls and the opportunity to help prepare the food. Watch live demonstrations, learn how to handle exotic ingredients and prepare dishes such as Banh Mi, Cao Lau and a variety of pickled vegetables, snacks and sweets. Afterwards, enjoy a private cooking lesson with a local expert chef where you can really get down to business. You'll enjoy your preparations for lunch - your chef-teacher will make sure they go down a treat! - with additional side dishes, drinks and sweets provided by the staff. You'll also receive a recipe booklet so you can recreate the dishes when you get home.

The rest of the day is then free. There's a wealth of activities on offer in Hoi An: take a cycling tour of the surrounding countryside and villages, shop for clothes or handicrafts in the old town, ask your guide for a side trip to nearby Bach Ma National Park, or spend the day relaxing at your hotel or on the nearby beach.

### DAY 8 - Nha Trang: Flight to Nha Trang and transfer to the luxury resort

In the morning you can sleep in or enjoy your last moments in Hoi An before transferring privately back to Da Nang Airport for a short flight to the coast to Nha Trang. Upon arrival, you will meet your driver who will privately transfer you to your beachfront hotel. You will spend four nights at leisure to rest, relax and reflect on your adventures.

### DAYS 9-11 - Nha Trang: Free days

You can spend these days as you wish. Vietnam's "golden coast" is famous for snorkelling and diving and also offers a range of water activities - jet skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding, kitesurfing and parasailing. On land, you can explore waterfalls, cycle, hike or even play a round of golf. Since the seafood here is delicious, be sure to sample it at one of the excellent restaurants in the area. Nha Trang is also known for its many health and wellness experiences. You can take advantage of the hotel's spa or head to other spas for beneficial mud baths, massage therapies, facials and body treatments.

### DAY 12 - Nha Trang: Departure Day

Unfortunately, your luxury honeymoon in Vietnam has come to an end. At the appropriate time, you will meet your driver and guide for your private transfer back to Nha Trang Airport to check in for your onward flight. Please contact our consultants who can advise you on how to customize or extend this trip.
