Yes, you can enter Vietnam any time on or after the entry date stated on your approved eVisa. However, you cannot enter before that date. Keep in mind that your visa expiry date remains fixed, so entering later will shorten your total allowed stay.
While the eVisa is a digital authorization, we strongly recommend printing at least two hard copies. Some airlines and border checkpoints in Vietnam still require a physical copy to stamp or verify. Having a digital PDF on your phone is a good backup, but a paper copy ensures a smooth entry.
To avoid rejection, you must upload a clear, color digital photo. It should be a portrait (4x6 format) with a white background, taken without glasses or hats, and showing your full face with a neutral expression. The file should be in JPG or PNG format.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Vietnam. If your passport is nearing its expiry date, we recommend renewing it before applying for the eVisa, as the Vietnamese Immigration Department strictly enforces this rule and may deny entry at the airport.
You should enter through the port listed on your application. While some major airports are occasionally flexible, changing your entry point (especially from an airport to a land border) can result in being denied entry. If your plans change significantly, it is safer to apply for a new visa.
As of 2026, direct visa extensions inside Vietnam are not officially available for most tourist eVisas. If you wish to stay longer, you will typically need to perform a "Visa Run"—leaving the country and re-entering with a new visa. We recommend planning your stay carefully or applying for a 90-day visa if you are unsure.
