Overview
The Mekong Delta is a vast region in southern Vietnam, where the mighty Mekong River splits into nine branches before flowing into the sea. The delta is home to diverse landscapes, rich culture, and abundant wildlife. One of the best ways to explore the delta is by taking a private cruise on a traditional sampan, a wooden boat that has been used for centuries by the local people.
Song Xanh Sampan is a flotilla of four unique, authentic, and charming sampans that offer private cruise experiences in the Mekong Delta. The sampans are designed with natural materials such as rattan, bamboo, and exotic wood, and are fully equipped with comfortable amenities and attentive crew. The sampans can accommodate from two to six passengers, making them ideal for couples, families, or small groups.

One of the highlights of the Song Xanh Sampan cruise is the visit to the Cai Rang Floating Market, one of the largest and most lively floating markets in the Mekong Delta. The market is open from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., but the best time to visit is around 7 a.m., when the activity is at its peak. Visitors can admire the rustic riverscapes and the variety of produce on display, as well as enjoy the unique sightseeing experience of cruising among the floating vendors.
The Song Xanh Sampan cruise also includes stops at other attractions in the Mekong Delta, such as a rice noodle factory, a fruit orchard, a local village, or a Cao Dai temple. Depending on the itinerary, the cruise can last from one to three nights, starting either from Cai Be or Can Tho.

ITINERARY

CAI BE - BINH MINH - TAN QUOI - Join us at 8:00 am at your hotel and drive to Cai Be. Start cruising from Phu An Jetty at 10:00 am. Watch the river life from the sampan – people working and relaxing by the water. On the way to Binh Minh, we will see how they make coconut candy, puffed rice, and other local products. We will also visit an old house in Dong Hoa Hiep village. Keep cruising and admiring the scenery and the people on the shore. We will cross the Co Chien River and stop at a clay pot factory. Have lunch on board while sailing to Binh Minh through a lively canal. See the busy boats and the calm life on the banks. Learn more about the local culture and visit a Cao Dai temple. Return to your sampan and enjoy the sunset while Song Xanh heads to the Hau River. Have dinner and stay overnight on board.

TAN QUOI - CAI RANG - CAN THO - Wake up early at 6:00 am for a visit to the famous Cai Rang Floating Market. Witness the hustle and bustle of the morning market as traders offer their wares on the waterway vying for attention from potential punters. Breakfast is served on board while the Song Xanh navigates towards the market among local barges loaded down with fruits and vegetables from the Delta, making for some stunning photos. Continue cruising towards Victoria Can Tho and disembark at the hotel’s private jetty. *Note: Actual itinerary may vary depending upon river tides, arrival time or other conditions.
