Da Nang is the perfect blend of modern urban life, stunning natural landscapes, and proximity to UNESCO World Heritage sites. Whether you are looking for white sandy beaches or high-altitude escapes, Da Nang offers something for everyone. Here are our suggestions for your stay, or you can book a tailored day trip with us.
If you love the ocean, Da Nang boasts some of the best beaches in Asia. My Khe Beach is the most famous, known for its long stretch of white sand and excellent surfing conditions. For a more secluded and upscale experience, head towards the resorts at Non Nuoc Beach, located at the foot of the Marble Mountains. The water here is clear, calm, and perfect for a relaxing morning swim before the tropical heat kicks in.
To experience the spiritual side of Central Vietnam, a visit to the Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son) is essential. This cluster of five marble and limestone hills is home to a network of caves, tunnels, and stunning Buddhist pagodas built directly into the cliffs.
On the Son Tra Peninsula, you will find the Linh Ung Pagoda, home to the majestic 67-meter-tall Lady Buddha statue. It is the tallest in Vietnam and offers a spectacular panoramic view of the entire Da Nang bay. For history enthusiasts, the Museum of Cham Sculpture in the city center houses the world’s largest collection of Cham artifacts, providing deep insight into the ancient kingdom that once ruled this region.
Known as "Monkey Mountain," the Son Tra Peninsula is a lush natural reserve just minutes from the city. It is one of the few places where you can spot the endangered Red-shanked Douc Langur in the wild. We recommend a private jeep tour or a motorbike ride along the coastal roads for breathtaking views. If you are into hiking, the trail to the "Ban Co" (Chessboard) peak offers the highest vantage point over the city and the surrounding ocean.
For those seeking a mix of adrenaline and scenic beauty, Sun World Ba Na Hills is a must-visit. Accessible by one of the world’s longest cable car systems, this hilltop resort features the famous Golden Bridge (Cau Vang), held up by giant stone hands. While it can get very crowded with mass tourism, the cool mountain air and the French Village architecture offer a unique escape from the coastal humidity.
Da Nang is famous for its bridges. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night at 21:00, the Dragon Bridge (Cau Rong) breathes fire and water—a spectacle you shouldn’t miss. For a more local atmosphere, visit the Han Market or the Con Market during the day to see local trade, or head to the Sơn Trà Night Market in the evening for street food, grilled seafood, and affordable souvenirs.
One of the biggest advantages of Da Nang is its location. Only 30 minutes away lies the ancient town of Hoi An. We recommend staying in Da Nang for the comfort and space, and taking late afternoon trips to Hoi An to see the lanterns light up without the daytime heat.
Similar to Phu Quoc, Da Nang has seen massive development. The skyline is constantly changing with new high-rises and luxury resorts. While the infrastructure is much better than on the islands, the Da Nang International Airport (DAD) can still get extremely busy, especially with international flights from Korea, China, and Europe.
To avoid the frustration of long queues after a long journey, we highly recommend using our Fast Track service at Da Nang Airport. It ensures a smooth transition through immigration so you can start your vacation immediately.
Have you walked across the Golden Bridge or spent a night watching the Dragon Bridge breathe fire? We would love to hear your impressions of Da Nang. Is it too modern for your taste, or do you find it the perfect base for Central Vietnam? Leave a comment below!
